Shawl Ministry

Our mission is to make shawls and prayer scarves and give them to people in need of comfort.  We are a "loose knit" group with a convener, but without officers, and there are no dues.

We make these shawls as a ministry to others, but we find it is also a time of ministry to ourselves as we "gear down," say a prayer, and breath with the beat of the needles.

We do not provide the materials; however, we do provide pattern instructions and lessons for knitting or crocheting the shawls.

At this time there are 12 very active members of this ministry.  Also there are those who quietly make items at home and bring them in when they can. Our group varies in attendance from very busy working women coming once every so often - to retired women attending on a very regular basis.  We are women who care about each other and about this ministry.  We have experienced the joy that a shawl brings to a recipient, and we also know the blessing we receive as we knit or crochet.  We welcome new participants; we would be delighted to have you join us -- men are welcome too.
