Education For Ministry


EFM is an adult-education experience developed by the School of Theology at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee.  Designed to run over four years, members engage in study of scripture, study of church history, and study of 20th century history.

EFM provides Christians with that basic skill that is the foundation of all Christian ministry -- theological reflection.  The focus of the program is on life as ministry, and understanding that ministry.  Students work together in small communities of learning.

Participating in EFM sharpens your skills of personal and cultural assessment and enhances your ability to be effective in a variety of ministries.

If you are looking for a way to discern God's call in your life, EFM provides an opportunity to study and reflect, and allows the awareness of God's vision to become the basis of your personal ministry.
