The Third Sunday after the Epiphany

Weekday Liturgies The congregation is invited to attend Evening Prayer on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday at 5:30 p.m. in the Church; the midweek Eucharist held on Wednesdays at 12:15 p.m. in Saint Mary’s Chapel.

Adult Forum: Increasing alienation of humanity from one another, the uneasy relationship between agriculture and animal husbandry, the wilderness and city-states – this session investigates these themes through analysis of the stories of Cain and Able, Noah’s flood and the Tower of Babel.  This session also observes the tantalizing hints in the primeval history of other myths, likely known to the early audiences but lost to history.  Next week, “Abraham, Sarah & Hagar” – be there! Today at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Mary’s Chapel.

Painted Pages “Clergy Day”: Rabbi Ari Plost, Imam Faruq Post, and Rev. Todd Young lead a walk-through and discussion of the "Painted Pages:  Illuminated Manuscripts" exhibit at the Washington County Museum of Fine Art today from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m.  The exhibit features more than thirty-five works drawn from Christian, Persian, Jewish, and classical traditions. Works include - medieval Bibles, prayer books, psalters, Books of Hours, choir books, missals, breviaries, and lectionaries.  Great opportunity to delve into history of religions and cultures!
