Sixth Sunday of Easter

Weekday Liturgies The congregation is invited to attend Evening Prayer on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at 5:30 p.m. in the Church; the midweek Eucharist held on Wednesdays at 12:15 p.m. in Saint Mary’s Chapel.

Adult Forum: 9:00 a.m. in Saint Mary’s Chapel. The Book of Judges ends with the collapse of the old order and “… there was no king in Israel!”  The tribal leadership of judges had disintegrated but increasing threat from the Philistines made a central government desirable.  Enter Samuel who represents the transition from charismatic leader to prophet.  Samuel reluctantly chooses Saul as King and watches as Saul fails.  Saul and his son die in battle making way for the King David saga.  Next week, King David!

Adult Easter Egg Hunt: Today the youth group will be hosting an Easter Egg hunt for the adults of the church. Please come with baskets in tow to search out candy and eggs while we continue our Easter celebrations.  Eggs will be hidden in the church playground, weather permitting.

Help Us Help Others: Mark your calendar for a fun filled evening.  Mayfest 2018 will be Saturday, May 12, beginning with a wine tasting at 6:00 pm followed by a four course, gourmet dinner. Tickets are $75 and are on sale following both services at the Antietam Street entrance.  Our goal for this year is $15,000 to be distributed to Community Free Clinic, Children in Need, Holly Place, and St. Etienne in Haiti.

Sunday, May 20th will be our annual Youth Ministries Breakfast.  This is a chance to recognize and celebrate the various ministries of our youth in this parish, and to thank the adult volunteers who help keep these ministries running.  Please join us at 9:00 a.m. in the Parish Hall for a pot-luck breakfast and celebration.

Community Café is hosting Strawberry Sunday: YOU ARE INVITED! Sunday May 20 - after the 10:15 service. The Community Café has been abundantly blessed with time, talent and treasure and we want to express our sincere gratitude for the support we have received from the people of Saint John's. We will be serving strawberry shortcake and talking about our plans for the Café. Join us for the CELEBRATION!

Bester School Needs:  Bester School continues to need our help in providing underwear for its young children. The school greatly appreciates all that we've donated in the past and all that we can do now and in the future.  Sizes needed are 4, 6, and 8 for both boys and girls.
