Saxophone and piano concert on Friday, October 6 at 7 p.m. as part of the Music at Saint John’s Series presented by Shepherd University music faculty, Jeremy Koch and Yu-Hsuan Liao. The program will feature a variety of repertoire including Asian-inspired pieces. “Both saxophone and piano are western instruments, however we discovered several interesting compositions that were written in the last two decades by Asian composers. Contemporary western compositional techniques were used to give the musical idioms such as ancient Chinese music and folk songs that are so essentially eastern a new twist,” Dr. Liao said. Be sure to invite friends and neighbors to attend this very unique and innovative concert. The program is free and open to the public. A reception will follow the concert.

Please use the Walnut Street parking lot and proceed to the elevator entrance. This 6 week program is aimed at teaching participants ways to reduce their risk of falling. It is evidence based and designed for older adults. It has been shown to reduce the risk of falls by 31%.
